Week 4 - Prac B prototype evaluation

Week 4 - practical B

Testing video prototype:
This week testing session, I have asked several students to watch my HangerSNAKE video prototype. Before the testing session I were expected all the audience understand my concept and my video's average score would get 9 out of 10.In my opinion the only thing I not did well is the game was lack of color that may bored the audience. In total of nine people has been evaluated my video. The first question was to ask how do the user think of this video in a scale from 1 to 10. The average point was 7.5 out of 10.The highest point was 10 and the lowest was 5. In addition, as the result isn't the same as I expected, some improvement have to be made. The second question is to ask the user do they understand my concept, and all the audience has understand my concept. The evaluation form has also shown that all the audience has understand my concept well which is consistent with my expectation. Moreover, few of the audience few it is interesting to play this game. However, several problems has been issued from each audience. The first problem is that the graphics and color of the video is too dark and the need more colors in my video which is the part I think I did not did not do well. The second problem was that the way of controlling snakes is too hard to change direction as player have to change direction by tapping water, so I have decided to change this to tapping four small cups which allow user to make flexible moves in the game. The third problem which has mentioned twice in the feedback form is that the room is too dark and audio that has some background noise. Therefore, I have decided for next time shooting a video, choosing a room with brighter light and go to somewhere quite to record the audio. The last problem audience has mentioned is that the game could be easily cheated by just moving the snake over row by row,so he suggested that obstacles should be added in order to make it hard and avoid that method of playing. Which I don't quite understand what he/she is talking about, because the player have to eat the correct letters to win the game, if they don't the game will goes on an on unless they run into a wall.
Overall, my prototype were quite effective that all the audience has understand my concept, although only a few audience feel it is an interesting game. The only constraints is that it the quality of the form may be low as only 10 respondents, it would be better if more people tested the video prototype in future testing session. Changing the way of control it from taping water to move snake to tapping small cups to make user more flexible to control the snake.
